Cost, Money & Banks:
Changing money

Maybe before you travel to Japan, you may estimate changing money into yen. Changing yen in other countries than Japan generally is more costly, it is recommended that you buy yen once you are in Japan. The authorized foreign exchange banks offer better exchange rate for the currency. Traveler's checks and some foreign currencies can be used at most large hotels and at duty-free shops.

Nevertheless, several businesses don't accept currency other than Japanese. Will be better that you change your money before you leave the airport. There are currency exchange booths in the arrivals area in Narita Tokyo International Airport or Kansai International Airport.
