Explore Tokyo: Tokyo Odaiba

Odaiba is a huge artificial island in Tokyo, showing several hypermodern and singular buildings memorably described as the result of an acid-soaked pre-schooler's architecture class. Administratively a part of the Minato, Koto and Shinagawa districts, the area is now a very famous shopping and entertainment destination.

It wasn't until the short period of time half of the 1990s, that Odaiba developed into one of Tokyo's most interesting tourist spots and the highly popular shopping and entertainment district, which it is today. Further progress of the area is still underway.

Among the allures of Odaiba are many shopping and entertainment centers, theme parks, museums and the futuristic architecture and city planning.
