Arrival & Information

Tokyo is Japan's capital and the country's biggest city. The metropolis of Tokyo comprehends 23 city wards (ku), 26 cities, 5 towns and 8 villages, including the Izu and Ogasawara Islands, several small Pacific Islands in the south of Japan's main island Honshu.

If you're arriving in Tokyo from abroad, you'll almost certainly touch down at New Tokyo International Airport. Otherwise, if you're coming to the capital from elsewhere in Japan, your arrival points will be one of the main train stations (Tokyo, Ueno or Shinjuku), the ferry port at Ariake on Tokyo Bay, or the long-distance bus terminals, mainly at Tokyo and Shinjuku stations.
